about the author
Jon Mears is from the North East of England and has been building websites for nearly 15 years. He set up Creative Node in 2007 and specializes in producing content management solutions for all size businesses and public sector organisations.
A keen Sunderland AFC fan he regularly stuffered with the clubs form but now rather enjoys the clubs purple patch. Married with two children and has been known to throw some crazy shapes and spin the odd record here and there.
Technical and personal musings, what else could I blog about?
Hmmm probably a lot of things... To be fair I could probably blog about the weather and the depth of tyre tread remaining on my car, but I doubt you would like to read about that. So, I'll attempt to keep my blogs on topic and try not to stray from the beaten track (that much).
But before I tell you what will be coming up over the next few weeks I'll should introduce myself.
I'm Jon Mears, 30 something from Chester-le-Street, near Durham. I've bee in the web design and development market since 1998, specializing in back-end web applications or as I like to call it 'the grunt work' or the 'heavy lifting', in other words I write code that makes websites work. I have always had an eye for design and been creative so I'm not adverse to Photoshop and more recently designing websites directly in the browser to make things look nice.
Over the years I have seen a lot of what the web has to offer, some has been really bad, but on the whole the vast majority has ignited my blue touch paper and given me enough inspiration and variation in my day to day work to keep me well and truly shackled to the web, and I love it.
So over the coming weeks/months I'll be lifting the lid on things I have found useful and sharing these with you, the good people of the internet. Topics will include content management systems, web server configurations, CSS3, HTML5, jQuery, e-commerce and my current love affair with Drupal, including tips on making themes, modules, configuration and anything else I find and makes me say 'wow, thats cool!'
If you want to get in touch use the contact form or tweet me @creativenode I'm always looking for new projects!
